2025 earnings · Census CPS ASEC 2026
What’s your salary percentile?
What counts as earnings
Earnings are wages and salaries plus income from self-employment, before taxes and other deductions, for the whole of 2025. Full-time, year-round workers worked 35 or more hours in a usual week and 50 or more weeks in the year. “All workers” means everyone aged 15 and older with earnings, part-time and part-year workers included. These are Census Bureau definitions.
Each tick is one worker in 100, from lowest to highest 2025 earnings. The curve above them is what each one earned, on a scale that spreads out the lower amounts.
The same earnings, other crowds
Each card is its own line of 100. Your tick moves because the crowd changes.
Median earnings in 2025
Half of each group earned more than the median and half earned less. The ± figure is the survey’s 90% margin of error, from the Census Bureau’s 160 replicate weights.

| p10 | $30,832 | $11,729 |
| p25 | $45,181 | $30,186 |
| p50 (median) | $66,619 | $52,768 |

| p99 | $510,448 | $473,826 |
The survey asked about 67,998 people with earnings, 48,154 of them full time, year round. Groups of fewer than 20,000 survey respondents rank no finer than their top 5%; the largest rank to the top 1%. Survey earnings are self-reported and some very high amounts are altered by the Census Bureau to protect respondents, so the highest percentiles are the least exact.
